KF Summer Swim Team - Meet Officials Needed - time to step up
Killer Whales Families,
For several years now, a small group of incredibly dedicated volunteer parents has carried the heavy load of running our swim meets. They have spent countless hours attending clinics, working long meet nights, and making sure our swimmers have a successful summer season.
Quite simply, it is time for more families to step up.
We cannot run swim meets without certified meet officials. That is not an exaggeration. With 6 dual meets plus Time Trials this season, we urgently need additional help to make this season possible and sustainable.
Right now, we specifically need at least 4 Stroke & Turn officials.
This request is especially directed toward families with older or more self-sufficient swimmers. If you still have very young children who require constant supervision during meets, this may not be the right role for you right now — and we understand that. But if your swimmers are independent enough that you can dedicate attention during meets, we need you to seriously consider stepping into one of these positions.
If you are willing to fill one of these roles, you MUST attend one of the certification clinics below or take the online class ( only online if you have experience) . There are no exceptions.
Stroke & Turn judges are required to re-certify every year.
No registration needed — just show up and sign in for the session you wish to attend.

Stroke & Turn Certification Options
There are three ways to satisfy TSA certification requirements:
- Attend one of the FREE TSA Stroke & Turn clinics listed above.
- Submit proof of USA Swimming or NCHSAA Stroke & Turn certification to:
[email protected]
(Include your club and official’s name in the subject line.) - Complete the online course through StrokeandTurn.com ($26.99 paid by the volunteer), then send your certificate to Tracey Mizell at [email protected] with your club name in the subject line and copy Tammie Smoot - [email protected]
These meets do not magically happen on their own. They happen because parents volunteer their time and effort to make them possible.
If you are willing to become a Stroke & Turn official or help in another certified role, please reply as soon as possible so we can finalize staffing before the season begins.
Thank you to the families who continue to step up year after year — and thank you in advance to those who are ready to join them.
If you have questions about what this role involves please reach out to Jeremy/Lyra/ Rachel or Tammie - we will be around the pool next week during practices - just ask
It's gonna be THE BEST SUMMER EVER!
