Kildaire Farms and Brighton Forest Tuesday Meet

Oh My Gosh - What happened to the Summer ?   Can you believe our LAST MEET is tomorrow ?   Just keep reading my email and get your camera's ready for a super fun meet!

This week we will be hosting the Brighton Forest  swim team at Kildaire Farms. The weather looks clear but HOT so bring lots of water and maybe a cooling towel or two.

1. Please arrive at 4:45pm. We will begin warm ups at 4:50pm (ish) and Holly Glen will warm up at 5:20ish pm.

2. As a courtesy to the visiting team Our families will leave the Pool parking lot open for Holy Glen families to park . You may have noticed that other teams do this for us. It is a courtesy to do so and sets a good example for our swimmers and I could really use everyone's help with being good hosts. Please park in the Clubhouse lot or If there are not enough spaces there are additional spaces between the tennis courts and Two Creeks Road . Please do not park in the cul-de-sac across from the pool as it makes the homeowners cranky.

3. The Visiting Team will be on the left side of the pool. behind the slides and diving boards.

The Killer Whales will be on the right side of the pool. You may want to bring some folding chairs.

4. SWIMMERS SHOULD STAY WITH THEIR KID PUSHER - They should have their goggles - swim caps - towels. Parents may wish to sit near their kid pusher. Please help these volunteers help your swimmer. It isn't right to ask them to wander around the pool trying to find your swimmer when they have a whole group of kids to get to the blocks. Please place yourself and your swimmer near their kid pusher. The signs will be out.

3. Ms. Nikki will have plenty of Pizza, Hotdogs & Burgers fresh from the grill and the famous Kildaire Farms Walking Taco’s so there is no need to cook and the kids will not complain - smile. We can accept cash and credit cards.

4. Mr. Jeremy and Ms. Jenny  will hold the the starter / timer / stroke n turn judge meeting at 5:45.  It is important for you to be at the meeting if you hold one of these positions.

5. Ms. Lyra will hold the Kids Pusher & Clerk of Courts Meeting at 5:45 - if you have this position please be in front of the snack bar to meet with Lyra 5.

6. We will condense Relays and we will be running some exhibition swims to speed up the meet and as long as the weather is good we should finish at a decent time.

6. ALL SWIMMERS MUST CHECK IN at the front gate  and with their kid pusher just as soon as you arrive PLEASE PLEASE CHECK IN - If we have a missing swimmer in the first heat or a relay we HAVE to let Mr. Dott know asap. Losing points because we didn't adjust our line up isn't fair to the rest of the team. SO CHECK IN.

7. ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST CHECK IN AT VOLUNTEER CHECK IN ( in front of the snack bar - AS SOON AS YOU ARRIVE SO WE KNOW YOU ARE HERE. This is important as Lyra and I panic just a little until we have everything covered.

8. Stuff happens - if you are not going to make the meet or you are running late and won't be there by 6pm please text me (Tammie 704-507-4411) or Jeremy Dott @ 202-262-5317 . Please do not send me an email during the meet as I probably won't see it. If we need to move a main heat swimmer or we need to fill a relay spot that takes time & it means we have to manipulate it in our computer system ( not like the old days) so the sooner you let us know the better. Finding out we are missing a main heat or a relay when the swimmers get to the clerk of courts loses points for the team so please - let me know as soon as possible.

10. Heat Sheets will be out in the afternoon on Tuesday and they will be posted at the pool - Pro tip - take a picture.

11. Time Drops Live - go to the app store and download time drops live so you can see you swimmers times - We will announce the code at the meet.. Cheer them on and encourage them to beat their best time.

12. The Kiddie Pool / The Shallow End are closed and off limits. No Swimmers - No parents - No siblings - NO friends - No kicking water - No wading The ONLY people in the water should be swimmers swimming in their events in the lane they are supposed to swim in.

13. This is a SWIM meet. Your swimmers should be with their age group or with the coaches cheering on their team mates. We will not be playing ball at the swim meet. So please don't bring balls and don't get them out of the shed and there will NOT be 4/square behind the kiddie pool.

13 1/2  - Special Programming.   This is our last meet so we have some special programming!

Senior Cap & Gown Swim -  Senior Swimmers & Senior Lifeguards will will have the traditional cap and gown swim after breast stroke.   We have invited the Brighton Forest Swimmers to join.

Twinkie Race -    Our 6 & Under swimmers have been invited to do their best attempt at a 15 Butterfly to finish out their season and will be rewarded with a twinkie at the finish line!   Parents please please get your camera's ready - if the butterfly isn't cute enough the joy on their faces when they receive their twinkie is the BEST.

14. Thunder Boomers - It's summer - it's thunder season. The TSA Reps will make the call on how we handle weather. We have multiple options and we will do everything we can to not have to come back and swim on Wednesday night. A meet is not complete until we have finished all Main Events thru Breast Stroke. IN THE EVENT OF A THUNDER OR LIGHTENING DELAY - PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE POOL PARKING LOT UNTIL YOU SEE AN EMAIL FROM US. We may need you to bring back main event swimmers to finish out the meet thru breast stroke. If you leave - we have no swimmers and lose points. Just hang in there until we make a call and figure out a game plan and then watch for an email with directions. We try to do this as quickly as possible and our first priority is making sure everyone is safe so if we have weather please have patience. Looking forward to seeing some awesome swims tomorrow night!! GO KILLER WHALES
