Kildaire Farms Time Trials Tuesday June 4th

Twas the night before Time Trials and all thru the house not a swimmer was sleeping and not even a frazzled parent !

1.  THANK YOU for declaring your swimmers.   We are down to ONLY 3 that have not declared.  Keep up the good work next week please!   Mr. Jeremy  - the Coaches - and I appreciate you helping us help you.

2.  THANK YOU for Volunteering -  ALL slots are filled and  Ms. Lyra will now sleep better tonight.    Do Not worry if you need on the job training - we will help you with that - smile.

3.  THANK You for picking up the tee-shirts -  We are down to 10 ish that still need to be picked up so see me at the pool tonight.   When You see Christine Wilson please give her a big THANK YOU for getting these to us so quickly for our short season.

TIME TRIALS INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW

1.   Be at the Pool at 5:45 PM -  Ready to line up for the Team Photo

2. Wear your  Kildaire Farms Swim Team Tee-shirt over your swim suit for the photo.

3.  Immediately after the photo we will roll into warm ups

4. The meet should start at 6:30 pm.

5.  There will NOT be concessions at this meet.   The pool Snack Bar will be open and Todd says they have plenty of hotdogs and burgers.

6. We will NOT have anyone in the water except for swimmers swimming their event at ANY swim meet this season.  The kiddie pool is NOT open.  The shallow end is NOT open.  There is NO pushing each other in the water or playing in the water.  Siblings are NOT allowed in the water.   Your swimmers WILL be disqualified.

7. There will be a parent coaches relay after Breast Stroke.  If you have not signed up with me -  please do so asap.  I have 8 spots open.  Bragging rights are at  stake.  It's a 50 and we  have lifeguards freshly CPR certified  standing by but please lets not have any Tuesday night under the lights warriors.... you know who you are.....

8.  Your swimmers will need -  a swimsuit - goggles - swim cap ( don't worry if they won't wear it ) towel.   It's going to be toasty so bring a water bottle.    If goggles or a swim cap breaks - do not panic - no need for tear - there are extra's in my pool bag.

9.   ALL SWIMMERS need to stay with their AGE GROUP and with their Kid pusher.   Please do not expect our parent volunteer kid pushers to run around the pool tracking down your child so they don't miss their swim.  Please be respectful and kind and sit with your childs age group.

9.  The swimmers should swim all of their events that the coach puts them in.  The only way to get better is to keep swimming and trying.   Even if the kid catcher carries them down the lane -  cheer them on and tell them they are awesome because they tried and they are awesome.       We are all very well aware that some of those flip turns / dives and butterfly's are a little scary but NONE of those things are intuitive so kuddos for every single swimmer for trying their best and learning something new!

10.   This is a swim meet -   everyone should be cheering on their team mates.  We will NOT be playing with balls behind the kiddie pool - on the far side of the pool  near the snack bar.

11.  The MOST IMPORTANT Thing you can do is to Cheer for  your swimmers in their meets.   Be present - be positive -  they are trying to get their strokes down - learn to dive - learn to flip turn - learn to swim across the pool -  improve their times.  Cheer them on please!!

12.  New parents -  don't worry if none of this makes sense to you -  it will start to gel after a couple of meets.    Just hang in there and feel free to ask questions.

12.   Because it is time trials the meet will be fast.  I suspect we will complete the meet by 8:30 - even with the late start.

13.  Junior Whales parents - because you are at the meet for pictures this is a great time to hang around for a bit - watch some events  and let your swimmers experience a swim meet so they are excited to move up to their age group and swim swim swim!

See you all at practice tonight  and at the meet tomorrow!
