It's Swim Time!!  

The pool opens on Saturday May the 18th at 10:30am -  who will be first in the water ?  Who will be first down the slide ?  Who gets the first dive ?   Bragging rights are at stake!

Have you registered for summer swim team at www.kfswimteam.com ?    I see some missing names and we don't want anyone to miss out on having fun with their friends this year.   I hear there is a really cool new 2024 Kildaire Farms tee shirt to add to your collection and perhaps a few relays to be had......   Will the teen's beat the parents this year ?  

The Killer Whales will start practicing on Monday the 20th.   New practice times are on the website.   It will be a bit chaotic the first couple of weeks but it will all work it's self out so have patience and I have lots of treats for the treat basket to encourage our younger swimmers.

Junior Coaches  - We simply cannot run the our Junior Whales program without the help of our fabulous Junior Coaches.   If are 13 and above and can help with the newer swimmers we would LOVE to have you join us.   Jeremy, Lyra  & I are very happy to sign off on service hours for our Junior Coaches.   If you are interested please reach out to Julia Dott or Kate Ragsdale -  contact info is on the website.  

Parent Orientation -   Our parent orientation will be Virtual this year!  Please put Thursday May the 23rd on your calendar @ 7pm.   Watch for the invite in your in-box soon.  The RSVP is open on the website -  It is for PARENTS ONLY - do not include your swimmers.

Calendar -   Please look on the website at the calendar.  Our Practice meet - also called an Intra-squad meet will be on Tuesday June the 4th.    Please try to attend as we will take the team picture and it's a GREAT way for the newer swimmers to see what a meet is like in a low key fun way.

Critical Volunteer Positions -  It takes a village to run a swim team -smile - and many hands make the work load lighter.  You will find as your swimmers get older that the positions that are right for you will change and that is ok - smile.    We have several jobs that can be done at times other than the swim meet - these are perfect for parents with young swimmers and we will talk about all of the opportunities at the parent orientation or look for Lyra or Me at the pool and we can help you decide.

Currently -  we have an URGENT need for a Starter and Stroke n Turn Judges.  If you are new to swimming - this is NOT the job for you but these are crucial and we need a handful of parents to step up and help.  If we have multiple volunteers it makes it easier for everyone..  There is a clinic coming up ( YOU MUST be trained to do this job)  so if you can help out with this role please let me / Lyra know asap.

Ask Me About Swim Team:   We shall try to staff the  "ask me about swim team table"  at the pool for the next couple of weekends with some experienced parents  ( experienced parents you know who you are so go ahead and claim some time or be volun-told -smile)    . Look for us on the shady side near the picnic tables.      Please feel free to pop by - plop down and ask any questions you have.  

Summer Swim Team is all about learning a sport that you can enjoy for a lifetime and making good friends - having fun with those friends and being a part of the team.   This is a very very short season but it brings a lifetime of memories that you and your swimmers will cherish.  So come as often as you can (even if you can't make all the meets)  - encourage the swimmers to do their best - have fun - and be a part of an awesome team!
